many fossils are found on Bear Springs Blossom Nature preserve, dating back to the time, when the Texas Hill Country was covered with a warm shallow ocean
Our area was once covered with a warm shallow ocean. Today we find fossils from the Cretaceous period, when billions of sea animals added to more and more lime on the ocean floor, which was later pressed to lime stone.
