Going GreenWhat I gain being green?
|How to keep Nature beautiful + how to secure our future!|
"I Want to Be Seen in Green"|
“Going Green” improves public perception and is just good business. Read statements from Dupont, WalMart, and Hewlett-Packard, all part of the 10 % of Fortune 500 companies - they understand this metric - green is not a color that is going to go out of style.
Schools and universities are the greenest places in the United States.
Green is cool in school today. In 10 to 15 years, those students are going to be customers.
What can a company do to nourish the Going Green idea?|
• creating conservation easements and wetlands
• earning LEED certification for buildings
• converting fleets to biodiesel /gas
• pursuing landfill-gas-to-energy projects
• company intern recycling
• food waste composting
• lowering the energy consumption with insulation
• green meetings
• better use of energy with smart appliances
• Solar + wind energy
• purchasing carbon offsets
What's in it for me?
New ideas get the most green press.
Green ideas show that You are a responsible person / company.Green action gives your friends / your customers the feeling *YOU CARE*
Composting is a compelling green initiative because it fits “the three ‘R’s.” It REDUCES the amount of waste going to landfills,
REUSES organic waste as compost and
RECYCLES waste into new products.
Companies should adhere to “the three ‘C’s” for getting credit:
• CLARITY in advertising green efforts.
• CREDIBILITY when making claims of green initiatives.
• CONSISTENCY in building a story with facts and stimulating repetitions to make them memorable.
