BSB Environmental conservation education online: Fighting pollution to secure the future of life on earth. Earth's environment: Reduce air pollution. Earth is endangered by pollution, polluted air, water polluted, polluted soil, contaminated, humans get sick because of pollution, pollution from energy production, plants die of polluted air + water, animals cannot reproduce because of polluted water, air, soil, food, climate change, increase recycling. To understand Earth's natural environment we need to learn and study. earth is our only home, the blue planet we need to survive - Nature education on air. Get science based facts. BSB has to report bad behavior, destruction of nature, polluting air, soil and water, all the time. BSB pollution information explains how pollution has changed earthquake patterns caused by climate change. New CO2 Milestone: Many months Above 400 PPM. BSB provides pollution facts and tell you about pollution causes. Air pollution kills many, land pollution makes many sick. Look into our BSB pollution information. We try to give you the newest pollution numbers, mercury pollution. BSB science members confirm climbing pollution. What is air pollution? Why is pollution bad to people? How water is polluted and what to do to avoid that. How do we get methane pollution? How is pollution changing our climate? Providing land pollution facts, info about air pollutants, and how polluted air affects human health are questions we want to explain. Why air pollution is today much higher than in the past, how we can get back healthy air. You can find environment pollution everywhere, also ocean pollution and land pollution and water pollution. River pollution is a big problem because of the outtake of drinking water. Car pollution is rising with every car, some of the old cars causing water contamination with oil. Again BSB show you the causes of pollution, the effects of air pollution and chemical pollution. BSB pollution research has to update its numbers all the time. The effects of Pollution

Earth needs an environmental balance!!
BUT
One effect of pollution everybody can see over the last years:
2015 broke all RECORDS
2016 broke all RECORDS
2017 again will break many RECORDS!!!

On this web-page we try to show you some of the effects of pollution.

On the web-page Pollution we try to show you the causes, the reason for pollution.
conservation education explain why smokestacks from industry and coal fired powerplants are the worst polluters, endangering life on Earth
Result: Earth gets warmer!

Some people that live in cold areas think 'Would be nice to have it warmer'
This idea is understandable, but warming oceans have been creating more violent weather.
Droughts and floods will be more severe, taking away the livelihood of millions.
Droughts and floods will make it more difficult to grow food - billions will suffer!

Warmer oceans have changed methane ice that was stored there for over 10000 years to methane gas.
Methane is 23 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.
Thawing ice from the Artic and Antarctica leads to more fresh water in Earth's oceans, leading to more water in the oceans changing earthquake patterns.
Spewing volcanoes are releasing water vapor (H2O) + carbon dioxide CO2 + sulfur either as sulfur dioxide (SO2) (high-temperature volcanic gases) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) (low-temperature volcanic gases) + Nitrogen argon, helium, neon, methane, carbon monoxide and Hydrogen
BSB research clearly shows:
Air pollutants are linked to extreme rainstorms + hurricanes
These weather events are getting substantially worse.
BSB pollution info: Earth's Nature gets more + more unbalanced. Soil and oceans are being weakened as buffers against global warming. A down ward spiral with long-term implications for the climate system. If the seas and the land are less able to soak up or store greenhouse gases, more of these carbon emissions will enter the atmosphere, holding in even more heat from the sun. Studies show a gradual increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) over the last half-century has accelerated the release of methane and nitrous oxide in the soil. These gases are respectively 25 and 300 times more effective at trapping radiation than CO2, the principal greenhouse gas by volume. This feedback to our changing atmosphere means that nature is not as efficient in slowing global warming as we previously thought. Studies examining how additional CO2 affects the capacity of different soils - in forests, grasslands, wetlands and agricultural fields - to either absorb or release these two gases yielded conflicting results. More CO2 increased nitrous oxide in all soils, but soils in rice paddies and wetlands released more methane in particular. The culprits in both cases are microscopic soil organisms that breathe in CO2 and exhale methane. The more carbon dioxide in the air, the more these single-cell greenhouse-gas factories thrive. The carbon credit that is attributed to faster plant growth driven by extra CO2 in the air must be revised. This credit helps to offset the negative impact of greenhouse gases - but the new data suggests it should be written down by a fifth. By overlooking the key role of these two greenhouse gases, previous studies may have overestimated the potential of ecosystems to mitigate the greenhouse effect. Another study highlights evidence that global warming is eroding the ability of the ocean to soak up CO2. Earth's seas take up roughly one-third of all human carbon emissions, but how this sponge responds to rising CO2 levels is a tough question, mainly because data has been spotty geographically and didn't cover long time periods. In the North Atlantic rising air and water temperatures were slowing the pace at which carbon is absorbed across a large portion of this ocean's subtropical zones. The ocean is taking up less carbon because of the warming caused by the carbon in the atmosphere. Up to now, scientists reasoned that only when carbon content in the ocean rose faster than in the atmosphere could one say that the capacity to take in CO2 had diminished. But the new study shows that the ocean sink can be weakened even without this visible sign. The ocean will keep its equilibration the balance between atmospheric and ocean carbon levels but it doesn't have to take up as much carbon to do it because it's getting warmer at the same time - warmer water cannot hold as much CO2 as colder water. As a result, as Earth ocean's temperatures are rising, their carbon capacity decreases. Water pollution takes its toll
The NEW Normal?

BSB science education gives answers!

Climate facts: In the last 12 years we hit 11 weather records!!
We faced the warmest months since US-weather records were written down!
RECORD: the 400 ppm level was already broken, now a new RECORD on CO2: 14 months above 400 PPM, March 28th 2017 above 409 ppm - very dangerous Carbon dioxide levels endangering us and our children!!
RECORD: The highest level since humans occupied Earth!
BSB conservation education online: pollution facts show that rising CO2 levels destroy sustainability, scientific data show how to achieve a sustainable life. The graph shows recent monthly mean carbon dioxide CO2 measured at Mauna Loa Observatory, Hawaii. Science facts show CO2 record plus the current year. Data are reported as a dry air mole fraction defined as the number of molecules of carbon dioxide divided by the number of all molecules in air, including CO2 itself, after water vapor has been removed. The mole fraction is expressed as parts per million (ppm). Example: 0.000400 is expressed as 400 ppm. In the above figure, the dashed red line with diamond symbols represents the monthly mean values. moving average of SEVEN adjacent seasonal cycles centered on the month, except for the first and last three and one-half years of the record, corrected to the seasonal cycles. Hurricanes + storms
with tons of rain + floods in one place
droughts + fires, famine in other places!
Food prices climbing
Drinking water gets expensive!
High energy demand caused by violent weather,
Electricity producing power plants need
huge amounts of water for cooling.
High air pollution produced by power plants ..
BSB Conservation education on pollution: warmer in Arctic, climate change in progress. Fire + drought + floods all at the same time equals climate change
Can You see a trend?
Do we really want to face that?
Do we really want our children to suffer?

Very strong storm with wind speeds up to 160 miles per hour, causing a lot of damage. Wildfires because of severe drought conditions, other areas still have flood problems.

RECORD high for food price index! Every month it breaks the record, never before food prices were that high.
One phrase will be heard very often in the next years:
People protesting because they are hungry
Violent weather caused by too much methane and CO2 already has destroyed huge parts of the harvest. Rice, corn, wheat prices are soaring - will be too high for many to afford ... how many will face starvation?

Pollution on our Earth affects several essential aspects:
Air + water + food + all living beings and pollution affects Earth's climate!

catastrophic ocean pollution in the gulf of Mexico, caused by exploded oil rig - water pollution facts, destruction of marine habitat, ocean wildlife endangered, pollution with oil continues

Oil in the Gulf of Mexico
In May 2010 the biggest environmental disaster in US-history happened in the Gulf of Mexico. Coast lines of Texas Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida were contaminated by oil!
Imaging the damage done to thousands of birds, millions of marine wildlife, plants and of course humans!!! The air pollution through evaporating oil is very harmful to humans.
conservation education explain why smokestacks from industry and coal fired powerplants are the worst polluters, endangering life on Earth Pollutants are emitted in completely different ways,
all pollutants harm living organisms!
Air pollution is mainly emitted though the exhaust of motor vehicles, the combustion of fossil fuels, the burning of coal and oil.
Most of the pollution from coal burning on Earth, comes from the production of electricity.
Water pollution is the result of industrial waste, environmental accidents and greed for profit without responsibility.
All societies know that pollution is harmful and a serious problem for Earth but many people are self centered, not caring for others!
Everybody can contribute to prevention. Many small steps can make a big difference!
Pollution solutions include: People everywhere on Earth should obey environmental laws, laws that protect their families, their neighbors, their friends. Government involvement is key to regulating toxins, building waste systems and protecting air and waters. Responsible behavior of the individual can make all the changes needed.
BSB Recycling to save resources! All raw materials and all energy are provided by our blue planet Earth, but they are NOT endless. Unfortunately, most of the provided raw materials and energy are not usable as they appear in Nature and are spread globally in deposits. We have to collect, clean, concentrate, and transform these resources to generate primary raw materials that are usable for people and industry. Using recycled materials reduces the amount of energy and reduces the amount of materials we have to dig out! Most of all things we use can be recycled! - - Bear Springs Blossom Nature Conservation volunteers take action on Climate change. We can all do a lot individually to help reduce pollution and conserve our resources, but its important to get businesses large and small on board as well
1) Put a bottle/can recycling bin in the break room
2) Install air dryers instead of paper towel dispensers in the bathrooms
3) Install low-flush toilets in the bathrooms
4) Adopt a highway
5) Recycle waste paper
6) Install a bike rack at the entrance and encourage employees to car pool
Conservation education online: pollution, water contamination, climate change - all contribute to higher food prices, leading to un-peaceful times
Land Pollution is the degradation of earth's land surfaces. Human activities are the main factor and their misuse of land resources. Haphazard disposal of urban and industrial wastes, exploitation of minerals, and improper use of soil by inadequate agricultural practices are a few factors. Urbanization and industrialization are major causes of land pollution. There are different ways we can handle our wastes, there are different ways to develop sub divisions, there are better ways to harvest minerals - we just have to think about our impact...
Butterflies are endangered by pesticides + air pollution. Burning fossil fuels increases air pollution If you like Butterflies, don't use pesticides = pesticides kill them.

The Industrial Revolution set a series of events into motion which destroyed natural habitats and polluted the environment, causing diseases in both humans, animals and plants.
The use of pesticides to kill pests and all other insects lead to the endangerment of all life on Earth.
Always think, before you use chemicals. When a pesticide can kill a bug, it can kill you too - most of the time, it is only a question of the amount you are using.
Scientists have proved, that even small amount of chemicals will harm humans, often not immediately, but in coming years. All pesticides are dangerous to human beings and cause additionally soil contamination and water contamination.
Pesticides are the chemical used for spaying to the crop. It kills the insects near by the crop which affects the crop. Farmers all over Earth have the highest cancer rate. A very big drawback of the pesticide is that after a certain period of time the fertility of land goes away and often bugs get resistant.

Chemical pollution

Herbicides are used to kill weeds. Herbicides derived from trinitrophenol (2:4 D and 2:4:5 T) have the impurity dioxin, which is very toxic and causes fatality even in low concentrations. A millionth of a gram can kill many humans. It also causes spontaneous abortions, hemorrhaging and cancer. Agent Orange (50% 2:4:5 T) was used as a defoliant in Vietnam. Eleven million gallons were used and children born since then to American soldiers who served in this conflict, have shown increased physical and mental disabilities.
It affects the head of the sperm and the chromosomes inside it. When you compare the DNA of a plant with the DNA of a human, you will immediately see, why Herbicides kill humans so easily.

BSB science explains many pollution sources, from fossil fuel burning, to man made chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, trash incineration. Learning in science based online classes helps going green, with clean water, healthy air, less severe weather
what can I do to live green, to secure clean water, to get science data on air pollution, severe weather, human health Marine pollution is mostly land based. The pollution often comes from agricultural runoff and wind blown debris.
Many potentially toxic chemicals adhere to tiny particles which are then taken up by plankton and benthos animals, most of which are either deposit or filter feeders. In this way, the toxins are concentrated upward within ocean food chains. Many particles combine chemically in a manner highly depletive of oxygen, causing estuaries to become anoxic.

When pesticides are incorporated into the marine ecosystem, they quickly become absorbed into marine food webs. Once in the food webs, these pesticides can cause mutations, as well as diseases, which are harmful to humans as well as the entire food web.
Toxic metals are also introduced into marine food webs. These causes a change to tissue matter, biochemistry, behavior, reproduction, and suppress growth in marine life. Often animal feeds are produced from sea life - so marine toxins are transferred to land animals, and appear later in meat and dairy products - then eaten by humans.

The remaining 1% is available to meet human needs. If you're an adult, your body contains about 40 quarts or 10 gallons of water - A man's body is 60-65% water. A woman's is 50-60% water - The human brain is about 75% water - Muscle tissue contains a large amount of water - Fat tissues contain virtually no water. Men tend to have more muscle as a percentage of body weight while women have more fat - You lose 2.5 to 3 quarts of water per day through normal elimination, sweating and breathing - If you exercise or live in a humid climate, you may lose another quarter - It has zero calories and zero sugar, but a good drink of water can reduce hunger - Water also helps your body metabolize stored fats, helps maintain proper muscle tone, and helps rid the body of wastes - Lawn sprinkling uses the most water outdoors. Inside, toilets use the most, with an average of 27 gallons per person per day. Laundry averages 17 gallons per person per day and showers 14 gallons. Typically, less than 1% of the treated drinking water produced by utilities is actually consumed by people - Most goes for lawns, showers and tubs, toilets
