Solar Energy
Energy from our Sun
Renewable Energy
updated December 2009
earth has only life because the sun shines on it. Solar energy makes life on earth possible. It took millions of years of solar energy to produce fossil fuels, but humans burn it in one century. Solar energy, wind energy, renewable energy help to save earth, reduce air pollution Keep Earth beautiful

Renewable energy reduces our emissions
Emissions that cause Climate Change
Emissions that endanger our children

solar cells and solar water heating panels combined on a roof - the energy of the sun will help us not to destroy Earth as we know it
The use of Solar energy can be quite nice to look at.
You can see here Solar electric cells
and Solar hot water heating panels

Photovoltaic panels or solar panels produce electricity with sun power - Solar photovoltaic is the direct transformation from sunlight to electricity
Solar power (also known as solar energy)is the technology of obtaining usable energy from the light of the sun.
Solar energy has been used in many traditional
technologies for centuries.

There are many different ways
to use free energy from the sun!
Ask us what price you should pay
for your solar energy project!

At our Nature Preserve in the Texas Hill County
we use the power of the sun:

When the sun shines on Earth, air is heated up, wind appears. Air is always streaming from an high to a low. wind turbines are using the power of the sun to produce electricity or to pump water, or to produce air pressure. wind energy is a renewable energy source - get personal advice from us if wind power is working at your property
A) to produce electricity with our windmillwindmill at Bear Springs Blossom Nature Preserve is using solar power to produce up to 1000 watts and hour - wind power is renewable energy without pollution

photovoltaics or photo voltaic panels or photovoltaic solar panels transform solar energy to electricity - we use solar panels for a decade - we give you personal advice
B) to produce electricity with Photovoltaics
solar cells or photovoltaics or solar electric panels are used at our nature preserve to produce electricity without polluting the air - solar power helps us to save money at Bear Springs Blossom Nature Conservation - we explain /educate the use of solar electrical energies, how to install a solar panel, how to connect photo voltaic, how several collectors in a row can boost your energy levels

Solar water heating or solar hot water panel, or solar thermal panel is using the power from the sun to heat up water or oil. We use a solar hot water system at our Nature preserve to provide hot water for 15 years. we give personal advice on how you can use solar hot water panels. Once installed it is free energy from the sun and our normal water heater is turned off - a Solar hot water panel is an investment with a great return, normally solar hot water energy pays you back in about 3 years
C) to warm up our water with the sun
here you see an old solar hot water panel that heats up a 80 gallon water heater. Its a thermal system that transforms solar power to hot water. This is also renewable energy equipment - Bear Springs Blossom Nature Conservation provides education on renewable energy on how to use solar hot water panels how to harvest its energies

our sun produces more energy than we can ever use - our Sun in Latin Sol - is a yellow dwarf - and the center of the Solar System. The Earth and other matter including other planets, asteroids, meteoroids, comets, and dust orbit the Sun, which by itself accounts for about 98.6% of the Solar System's mass. The mean distance of the Sun from the Earth is about 149,600,000 kilometers, or 92,960,000 miles, and its light travels this distance in 8.3 minutes. Energy from the Sun, in the form of sunlight, supports almost all life on Earth via photosynthesis, and drives the Earth's climate and weather
Sunlight is Earth's primary source of energy.
The solar constant is the amount of power
that the Sun deposits per unit area
that is directly exposed to sunlight.
The solar constant is
~1,370 watts per square meter
or ~1273 watts per 10 square feet
Many names are used for equipment
that is harvesting the sun:

Solar panels
Photovoltaic panels PV

Commonly used:
Single Crystal Solar Modules
Polycrystalline Solar Modules
Amorphous Thin-Film Solar Modules

Single Crystal Solar Modules are the most efficient photovoltaic cells, mostly use in homes to produce electricity. Most of them have a guarantee of 25 years, so their life span is really good.
Polycrystalline Solar Modules are less expensive, but they are less efficient. Higher heat brings efficiency down. You see Polycrystalline Solar modules often in or with small appliances.

The newly offered amorphous Thin-film Solar modules can be used in a very flexible way, but produce the lowest amount of energy per square yard.
At your home you can have a solar system
that heats your water
Solar hot water panels
solar thermal panels

that produces electricity = photovoltaic All these describe the use of renewable energy.
Energy that isn't producing air and water pollution
Energy we can use without burning fossil fuels

And there is financial help through federal tax credits covering about 30% of the cost.
So you see, YOU can use the sun to save money and to help Nature!!

Bear Springs Blossom
Nature Conservation
is using Solar energy in different ways.

YOU can do that too!

We give information
on all RENEWABLE ENERGY sources.

water heating panels are heating your water, so you save money on your electricity bill
We show and explain solar hot water panels

to keep Earth beautiful more people should us photovoltaic panels and produce their own electricity
We show and explain solar panels = photovoltaic

Live in Harmony with Nature - use solar energy, renewable energy that does not warm up our Earth Live in Harmony with Nature
Use wind energy, solar energy, solar power because Earth population is growing, more people produce more CO2 so more global warming and climate change will endanger our children and grandchildren
Earth population is growing,
more people produce more CO2
so more global warming and
climate change will endanger our children!
Solution: Solar Energy

Butterfly - our butterflies love solar energy and are good indicators how balanced nature is, less butterflies less intact nature, so more nature conservation and education is needed to reduce the impact of global warming and climate change

Naturschutz ist international - Beschützt die Natur unserer Erde - Information des gemeinnützigen Bear Springs Blossom Naturschutz Vereins, online Bildung, Naturkunde, Naturwissenschaft - Naturschutz, Umweltschutz, Luftverschmutzung, Gewässerschutz, Regenwaldschutz, Klimaveränderung
nature conservation is the only way to give children, grandchildren a safe future, with enough breathable air, enough healthy drinking water, with a good climate, without violent weather, storms, floods. Nature conservation is not very costly but very efficient if all of us do just a little bit to reduce air + water pollution, to reduce co2 levels, to lower the impact of global warming + climate change
International Water conservation provides a safer future to children, grandchildren. Water conservation provides enough drinking water, a better climate, without food shortages. Polluted water causes higher food prices. Water conservation is cheap but very efficient if all of us a little bit to reduce water waste, water pollution. Humans need to drink water - drinking water has many health benefits - earth has an permanent water cycle, but polluted drinking water cannot be used - take action today, reduce water consumption - conserve water
soil conservation is the only way to secure our food supply, our drinking water supply, a stable climate - soil conservation is not costly but efficient. Reduce erosion and chemical soil contamination = soil conservation. Reduce co2 levels to lower the impact of global warming, climate change

Junipers juniper ashei are trees or shrubs found all over Earth - preferring limestone. we need junipers, why does the Texas Hill Country, Pipe Creek, Bandera County, have so many junipers or Texas cedars? Texas Junipers are native trees growing up to 80 ft for 200 years. Texas Cedar juniper makes good mulch, help other native plants to grow. Juniper is a nursery plant - very important for nature and humans

The Golden cheeked Warbler is an endangered bird breeding only in the Texas Hill Country - no other place on earth. Golden cheeked Warblers need Texas Hill Country trees and plants and mature junipers to build a nest. Our nature preserve provides habitat for 6 pairs of the Golden cheeked Warbler or in short GCW who peels little stripes from the bark of the mature Texas Hill Country juniperus ashei to built its nest, showing how important nature conservation and education is to live in harmony with nature to protect globally endangered species through international nature education
